I live on an island
By Ellen Hayakawa on Sep 29, 2009 in Ellen Hayakawa's Thoughts
I live on an island in the Salish Sea. It is a stunningly beautiful island, not only because of the island but because of the surrounding scenery – spectacular mountains some of them snow-capped even in summer and the glittering ocean – that changes from day to day. The rhymes and rhythms of the sea and this island have taught me alot about life and living.
Today I walked the island from one side to the other – enjoying the ups and downs of the terrain as I walked beside the mountain towards the sea. I swam in the ocean a couple of times on this day because its still hot and sunny – like weather in midsummer. The ocean is icy and clear now, turning the body numb in a few seconds. At the same time, swimming in the ocean at this temperature makes me know what a joy it is to be alive. I love living on an island in the Salish Sea.
HELLO, Just found your blog thru Chris C.
Have visited your beautiful Isle twice and like most, wish to live there one day……
So grateful to the Elders who inspire and share there lessons. Hope to be of same mind as I continue on Mother Earth.
Thank You!
