Honouring the cycles of light and dark
By Ellen Hayakawa on Sep 8, 2009 in Spirit at Work
Just as the passage of seasons and people is honoured, so are the daily
diurnal cycles and personal cycles – the cycles of light and dark. No longer
is there a working day of fixed length. During the winter season when the
number of daylight hours is reduced, the length of the working day is
reduced. It is a time to hibernate and incubate the brilliant ideas and
innovations to come. In summer, when the rays of the sun and the energy
of the water and the land around us beckon, each of us takes time off to
relax and re-energize.
