Rituals and Ceremonies/Honouring the Seasons and Cycles

I have a vision of joining together with others to create organizations
Just as the cycle of the seasons is recognized, so too is the seasonal cycle
where rituals and ceremonies are created to honour people and work.
We honour the privilege of being gathered together for a meeting and
the initiation, duration and completion of projects. Birthdays, deaths of
workers and loved ones in their families are honoured, as are the passage
of the seasons – the spring and autumn equinoxes and summer and
winter solstices.
of a person’s working life. Spring is the time of birth as a person comes
to a new position. Summer is the time of youth, growing and developing
in that position. Autumn is the time of having knowledge, experience, skills
and confidence. This is the time of the elder and mentor – advising and
counselling based on all of the learning that has occurred. Winter is the
time of death – letting go of that job or position. As the fields lie fallow,
resting and waiting for spring, we need to lie fallow and in the void. This
is often the part of the cycle where we feel depressed, wondering whether
a new direction or a new job will open to us. It is also a time of incubation
of the next step in the creative calling of work. Spring brings rebirth and
resurrection in a new job or vocation.
